One of the giant bamboos, ±8 cm thick, ±10 m tall. Appears often as mutation in variegated vivax groves. Edible shoots. In 2023 we harvested one cane of 13.3 m!

This bamboo, which occasionally spontaneously develops from a P. vivax 'Aureocaulis', is yellow with a green sulcus. It grows faster though, and is a very beautiful bamboo if you want a high, wide species. In our garden almost 5 cm thick (measured between 2 nodes at around 160 cm from the base)! Edible shoots.
